My grandmother never knew her father, all she knows for sure is his name, Etienne Lavalette. She fabricated a version of Etienne that soon became her truth. Based off this and some fabrications of my own, I have created a range of graphic ephemera that belongs to or regards Etienne Lavalette. Spanning from 1910 to 1950, these items tell a chronological narrative and give a brief insight into Etienne’s life and character.
